A Reflection on 2009

So it's almost 2010 and I am sitting here reflecting on the past year. 2009 was a great year for me and my website. I'm surprised at how far its come from the little idea that I had. Jay Swag Blog is a little over a year old now (est. October 2008). When I first started I figured I would write for a year, get disappointed in its success, and give up. As I sit here writing this I realized how wrong I was. Within this short amount of time I've interviewed artist like The Scenic, and even D. Woods about the break up of Danity Kane. I reported on the Couture for a Cure fashion show. I've even met some pretty cool bloggers. Shout out to the owners of the following blogs, aramatic.blogspot.com malibumara.blogspot.com kidfreshhotfashionx.blogspot.com and justinfreshness.blogspot.com. I know 2010 is going to be a big year for them and hopefully me as well! In this next year I hope to get back to interviewing artists who are hot at the moment, and also up and coming artist. Oh yea! I wont Gunnar shades from Soulja Boy this year too! haha. This year is going to be a good year, I can feel it. I plan on getting another new layout, creating a team of super bloggers and providing you with more interviews and coverage of events. I want to thank everyone for my support and bearing with me while I bring my website to a level higher than I even imagined. Good by 2009, hello 2010!

Day 26 Falls Victim to the Curse

It was only a matter of time. Day 26 has fallen victim to the Making the Band Curse. Following in the footsteps of their sister group, Danity Kane , Day 26 is falling apart, one member at a time. Que is no longer a member of the group. He tweeted yesterday saying "wow.. im soo hurt rt now i just received a letter from day26 saying they are moving forward without me..im so confused..what did i do?" He goes on to say that God has his back. 2 hours ago, he tweeted that his new management is Soul World Entertainment. Good luck to Day 26 and Que! I hope they all continue with their success.

Tina Knowles Files for Divorce

Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, has decided to split up with her husband of 31 years! Word is, she filed for divorce sometime last month. There is speculation as to whether or not this has to do with Matthew Knowles being hit with a paternity lawsuit in October, from a women who was not his wife. My guess is...that has everything to do with it! Hopefully they have a peaceful divorce for Beyonce and Solange.

Poor Mariah

Apparently, Island Def Jam has decided to stop promoting Mariah's new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Her sales were not high enough and so they had to develop a plan B. There will be a remix album released sometime in February. I'm not sure what I think about this. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea, or should they not even release a remix album?

Jersey Shore Punching Scene Cut

MTV's newest reality show, The Jersey Shore, has decided not to air the scene where cast member, Snooki, is punched in the face. They released a statement saying, "What happened to Snooki was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of contest to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in next week's episode. The show will still make it clear what events transpired, including the full aftermath." I personally think this is a great idea, being that the show is already receiving enough criticism. Despite all of the people hating on the show, it's viewers doubled from last week! Are you watching the Jersey Shore?
