Lorde Wins Big At Grammys 2014

The 2014 Grammy Awards took place last night, and it was definitely a night for, 17-year-old singer/songwriter, Lorde to shine! The "Royals" singer picked up not one, but two Grammy awards, and, performed the song that earned the awards.

Lorde won the Grammys for Best Pop Solo Performance, and Song of the Year, for Royals. Her album, Pure Heroine was released this past September, and since then she has been making quite the name for herself. I'm a huge fan of hers and am so happy that she is receiving the recognition that she deserves.

A little fun fact; her hit song Royals, was written by Lorde when she was only 15-years-old! I'm excited to see what's next. Lorde, if you're reading this, let's set up an interview!

Day 26 Name The TV Show You Have Become Addicted To

I couldn't name just one, so here are two TV shows that I have become addicted to. I am a die hard fan of Teen Wolf and True Blood. I became a fan of True Blood after the first season. My dad watched the first season and told me that I needed to watch the second one with him. When it started up I got hooked right away. It's definitely my favorite show on TV.

My second favorite show has to be Teen Wolf on MTV. I watched the first season and loved it. After that, I kind of got caught up with school at the time, and so I missed out on the second season. When the third season was ending I caught up via OnDemand. Since then, I've been obsessed with it. I actually introduced the show to Dylan and caught him up with the whole third season in the past two weekend.

So there you have it! Those are my two favorite shows and I highly recommend checking them out. What are your favorite shows on TV right now?

Dylan Bernard & Natalie Bermudez Cover "Say Something"

I'm so excited to share this with you all! Dylan was recently joined by our good friend, singer/songwriter Natalie Bermduez to cover Say Something by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera.
I am so happy with how this cover came out! When they recorded the audio I knew it was going to be one of my favorites, and then when we decided to shoot an actual music video, it just got even better.
I'm really proud of everyone involved and I think the video came out great! It was my first "music video" that I shot and edited, and I can't wait to do another one just to learn more and to keep getting better.

Be sure to share it with everyone you know, and follow both Natalie and Dylan on Twitter, @NatalieKristal & @DTBMuzic.

Lorde's Younger Sister Posts Cover

It seems that Lorde's younger sister, India Yelich-O'Connor is following in her sister's footsteps. The 15-year-old just released a cover of Say Something by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, and it has already received a ton of attention.

I've posted it below for you guys to check out. I think there is a lot of potential for India, but I do believe she still has a long way to go. It will be interesting to follow her and see if she continues to post! Let me know what you guys think.

The Wanted Call It Quits After New Single

The Wanted has officially lost the boy band battle to One Direction...I mean, is "taking a break." The announcement was made earlier today through their website alongside the announcement of their latest, and last, single/music video "Glow In The Dark."

The band has decided to take some time off after their tour to focus on individual endeavors. They go on to say that they want their fans to continue to see them as "The Wanted," and that they hope to work together again in the future.

Personally, I see this as a great move for Nathan Sykes. Hopefully he uses this "break" to his advantage and goes on to release some original solo music. I believe he will have a great career ahead of him if he does so.

What do you guys think of the band taking a break? Do you think it's permanent? Are you disappointed? Let me know below!

Day 16: How Would You Spend Your Last Day on Earth

Today's blog challenge asks, "if today were your last day on earth, how would you spend you're remaining time?" This question really kind of puts the world into perspective. I feel like every day I spend my time on Twitter, texting, watching TV, shopping, or doing other recreational tasks. If the world were to end, is that how I would want to spend my last day? Is that what is really important? It really got me to thinking about the important things in life. I probably wouldn't be doing any of those things if it were my last day on earth. I think I would turn my phone off, not spend any money, and not even turn on my TV.

I would spend my time with my family and friends. I would right any wrongs that I weighed on my mind. I would try to get rid of any regrets. I can honestly say that I would try to do one more interview since I love it so much. I would be sure that although my time on earth was ending, I would be leaving a mark that could never be erased.

After I thought about that, I then thought "well...shouldn't I be living life like this every day?" I mean, it's a little unrealistic for me to turn my phone off and not watch TV at all, but I should be using every day to my advantage. Every day is another chance to leave my mark. Live every day like it's your last, because the truth is we never know when it's all going to be over. Don't spend your time harboring regrets. Leave your mark.

American Idol: Good Chemistry but Bad Ratings

American Idol is back! Tonight was part two of the two night season premiere and I have to say, I missed the show. I'm glad that it's back. There is always something about American Idol that is just a little more special than shows like The Voice or X Factor. I was, however, a little worried about the chemistry between the judges. Now that Randy is gone, all of the original judges have left the show. This season's talent will be judged by Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. After watching two nights, I love the chemistry, and am definitely looking forward to this season.

Now, that's all my opinion. The ratings are saying otherwise. This season of American Idol premiered to the lowest ratings in Idol history!  While the show delivered a massive 15 million viewers, which was the most on Wednesday night, and more than The Voice, in comparison to the other seasons it dropped 23%. The ratings have dropped steadily for the past few years, and if the show does not pick up this season it will be interesting to see just how much longer American Idol will be on the air.

Have you been watching Idol this season? If so, what do you think of the chemistry between the judges? Will you be watching for the rest of the season? Leave your comments below!

Days 9 & 13: Pet Peeves & Three Confessions of Your Choice

I have so many pet peeves so I'm just going to list a bunch of them below. I'm sure there are going to be ones I forget and leave out!

  • Lateness
  • Plans getting changed/cancelled
  • Lying
  • Drinking out of a bottle or can
  • When the bed sheet comes undone
  • Being ignored
  • Being too hot
  • Being too cold
  • When my room is a mess
  • When people listen to music too loudly
  • If I'm typing and I keep making the same mistake or auto correct doesn't work right
  • When walking in a group, I hate being the first one or the last one. Always in the middle
  • Repeating myself
  • That noise a straw makes when you get to the bottom of a drink
  • Little kids who don't know how to act in public
  • When you're with friends and they're on their phone
  • Driving

Confession 1: I used to be super shy when I was younger, and even towards the beginning of my website I never wanted to do interviews in person. I always had them through email. I'm glad that is over lol.

Confession 2: I'm afraid of the dark and still have to sleep with a lamp on

Confession 3: Everyone says I can be overly dramatic...and in 8th grade I got the title of "most dramatic." I guess I'll admit there's some truth behind that statement.

Jelena Back At It Again

Honestly, I didn't even want to blog about this because I didn't find it relevant, but since the world is making such a big deal about it, I'll become the millionth and one blog to let you know that pop stars Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are allegedly back together.

Rumors began swirling that the two were back together when Justin posted this picture on his Instagram profile which clearly shows Selena cozying up to the superstar. One of Justin's friends, Ryan, tweeted earlier in the day telling everyone to delete their Twitter's and jokingly wrote "What you should probably do tonight." In hindsight, this was probably his way of telling everyone that the Twitter world was going to explode with angry tweets once Justin posted the picture.

So far I've seen tons of hate tweets towards Selena. To me, that's no surprise. Do I think it's right? No, but I do get it. Justin is a superstar that millions of girls want to be with. Of course having a public relationship is going to be an issue; for any teen heart throb really. However, I'm seeing people saying that Selena is a "gold digger..." Selena Gomez is worth $10 million on her own. I promise you she's not a gold digger. That's just  an absurd statement to make.

Lets just let Justin and Selena be. I'm over it already.
