Who's Going Home?

Last night, the Idol contestants performed hits from the Rat Pack era. Most of the Idols were strong, actually they were all pretty good. After reviewing each performance I believe that Matt is the one who deserves to go home. He has not been firm in the competition, starting off not so good, getting better, and now falling again. However, just because he is the one who should be going home, this does not mean he is the one who will be going home. Week after week America votes Allison (a personal favorite) into the bottom three. It is very possible that Allison gets sent home, unfairly. I hope you voted correctly, as Allison was amazing last night! Good luck to everyone tonight!

Stick with Singing

Copyright goes to respected owners

David Archuleta appeared on a recent episode of "Hannah Montanna" and performed a duet with her. His singing was on point, his acting...not so much. Archuleta, stick with singing. On the other note, Miley, Hannah,or whatever she wants to be called...should stick with acting

The Pratt Wedding

Buchan/Green

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt officially got married sometime yesterday evening. Over 200 friends and family members joined them, such as Brody Jenner, David Foster and even Lauren Conrad attended! Conrad had commented earlier this month saying that she would not be attending. I wonder why the change of heart? It is also confirmed that the wedding will also act as the season finale of "The Hills." Oops...are we not supposed to know that Lauren was there?

Making the Band Finale

Last night, the Making the Band 4 finale took place. Although there were performances from Donnie Klang and Day 26, the show mainly focused on Danity Kane. As predicted last week, most of the members were present. Surprisingly, the one member who was not there was Aundrea. Many viewers had hopes of Danity Kane coming back together as a group, but the show put those hopes on hold. Diddy also cleared out rumors of a "new" Danity Kane. He said he will be looking for another girl group however, there would not be another Danity Kane unless it consisted of the five original members. All five members were officially released from their contracts...again, meaning they all can pursue their own goals. Dawn will be a part of the "Last Train to Paris," Aubrey will have her own reality show beginning in the Fall, Shannon is working with a website and may start country music, D. Woods has her solo album coming out sometime soon and Aundrea's future plans are unknown at the time. Unfortunately, it seems that Danity Kane's journey officially ended last night (at least for the time being). Good luck to all of its members and maybe someday we will see, Aubrey, Dawn, Aundrea, D. Woods, and Shannon grace the stage again as the Danity Kane we all knew.

Interview With The Scenic!

Hey everyone! I have another interview for you. This time, I interviewed The Scenic! Along with having their very own album being released recently, they are currently on tour and will also be in the 2009 warped tour!

1. Hey guys! Let me start off by saying congratulations on the album. I've listened to it, and I think it's awesome. It is obvious that you guys have talent. What was it like for you guys, individually, completing this album?
We all had a great time working on this album. For many of us it was our first time working on a full length CD.We are proud of the fact that we went from having no songs to having an album we love in just a matter of months, but this time around we are really honing in on our writing skills. And taking more time preparing everything.
2. Where did you come up with the name, The Scenic?
We have no clue.
3. Who are your greatest inspirations and have you met any of them?
We just love making and playing music, traveling and meeting some of the greatest people across the country.
4. What was it like when you began touring?
Our first tour was with Go Radio and Lannen Fall, and those 2 bands are some of our best friends now. We have made good friends with just about every band that we have ever toured with.
5.
How do you prepare before you step on stage and once you do step on stage, what does it feel like?
We each have different warm ups, stretching, vocal exercises, etc we all do. Nothing too exciting actually, but getting on stage is so much fun.
6. How does it feel knowing that your fan base has been growing tremendously and continues to do so?
It’s really rewarding coming back to cities a second and third time and having a bigger draw than the local bands or the bands that are from the area. It’s a cool feeling. Hopefully we can keep building on that.
7. Personally, my favorite song from you guys is Hold Me Close. I really like the lyrics, beat and everything about it is catchy. What is your favorite song to perform and why?

Hold me close is very fun to play, so is Are You Down? We get to rock out on those songs.

8. How did the whole idea for the band start and when did you realize you guys had something special?
We had been playing in various bands since High School, but still going to college or working part time jobs until we met Jeremy. When he started jamming with us in Jan of 2008 we knew we had something special and decided to go all out for the band.
9. Are you guys currently working on anything new?
We have 5 or 6 songs for the new album, but were going to be touring pretty steadily until the fall so it might be hard to write a bunch more until we get home. However we are playing out some of the new songs and seeing how people react to them. So come out to a show and check out the new stuff!
10. Lastly, are there any artist you would like to collaborate with and if so, who?
We’re going to probably get some of our friends to do some guest vocals on the next CD, but nothing is set in stone.

So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed the interview and if you haven't checked out The Scenic you have to now!
http://www.myspace.com/thescenic
Also, make sure you find out if they are coming to a town near you and go see them live!
Thanks to The Scenic again!

You Guys Will Believe Anything!

More rumors about the filming of "New Moon" have surfaced and of course a lot of people believe them! Before I explain, why is it so easy for you to believe these rumors and gossip? Email me at johnpanichella@jayswag.com. That is what Jay Swag is here for, to help you separate the truth from the gossip. But anyway, back to the story. Rumors have began that filming of "New Moon" has been put on hold due to copyright claims. Many gossip sites have said that one of Stephanie Meyer's classmates from Brigham Young College claims that Meyer got the idea from her. These sites are saying that "Heide Stantnon," the classmate, made a remark when watching the film on how similar it was to a short story she wrote in BYU. After this, Stanton was sure that the story was copied by Meyer and that it took her so long to realize this because she has been busy, as she is a mother of four. Well...once again all of this is false. A spokesperson from Summit Entertainment stated that the rumor "is absolutely not true on any front. It is a hoax." So there you go everyone, another rumor put to rest! I am surprised that this rumor actually made it to many sites including The Insider!

DK Reunion?

For everyone who watched part 1 of the Making the Band season finale, you know that at the end of the episode Diddy teased us saying he may bring back the members of Danity Kane for second part of the finale. Well we know that Dawn will be there, as she is the only one still signed to her Bad Bay contract, and Aundrea will most likely be there since she appeared on the show throughout the whole season. Now we know that D. Woods, who I interviewed about the break up of DK and her new path, will be making an appearance too. She released a statement on her website saying

"Cant surprise you guys for nothing!!! so many of yall have been hittin me up about the Making The Band Finale and I guess I just have to admit…YES I’m stopping through! Don’t ask me what’s gonna happen, Im in the dark right along with you guys. But based on the antics this season has displayed, I hope you guys will be routing for a POSITIVE visit and pray for me while in that atmosphere. Despite all that I am looking forward to the trip, informing you guys on how I’m doing and many of you seeing me for the first time in a while. SO TUNE IN!!!"

Hopefully Shannon and Aubrey will make it too and maybe they can do one last performance! Even better, Maybe Diddy will give them the chance to work together as Danity Kane again! I guess we will all have to wait and see. Make sure you watch the Finale of Making the Band on Thursday!

Go Home Kris?

For those of you who watched American Idol you would know that everyone actually did fairly well. For the past few weeks I have been either writing a post about who should go home, or twittering about it at www.twitter.com/officialJaySwag. This week, however, I found it hard to pick one person to go home. Even the weakest links, Kris and Anoop did surprisingly well. So I sat and thought about it and I came up with Kris being the one sent home tonight. Anoop is getting better every week while Kris fluctuates. Gradually getting better is a better quality than having an unsteady line of performances. I would also say that the judges may use their save on whoever gets sent home tonight. What do you think?

Archie/Lovato Tour

David Archuleta and Demi Lovato will be teaming up for a summer tour. Although the tour has officially been announced dates have not been mentioned. It is expected that the tour will begin sometime in July. I know its early but if you go email me and let me know how it was. I am surprised that there isn't someone who is bigger touring with them. I think they should be an opening act, rather than having a whole concert to themselves. I'm not trying to be mean, they both have talent but for real...doesn't Archuleta have like one song?

Forever In A Day

Day 26's new album came out today and is entitled "Forever In A Day." My advice? I want to hear from you, if you got the album email me letting me know what you think. johnpanichella@jayswag.com.

Whats Up Doc?

Dr. Jan Adams, the surgeon who performed surgery on Kanye West's mother causing her to lose her life, had retired his medical license. Apparently, it was not the West case, but two formal charges of DUI that pushed him over the edge. About time! I can't believe it took him this long!

Our new President, Barack Obama, will now have a movie made about him! I should have seen it coming. Sony Pictures has the rights to make an HBO documentary about Barack Obama entitled, By the People: The Election of Barack Obama. The film will be shown in theaters world wide. There are plans to add interviews and other interesting features to make the movie as interesting as possible. With such a big event, it better be a good movie!

New Rules

After last months disaster at the New York Americas Next Top Model auditions, millions of people did not get to try out. Now they will get there chance. Tyra Banks will re-do the New York auditions but there are some new rules this time around. First, you are not allowed to stand in-line over night, instead you can start lining up at 6:00am. You will be given an audition wristband and be asked to come back at a later time. Also you can not have you're whole family/fan club/friends with you, unless you're under 18. Basically, they want you to be aware of your surroundings and respect each other. Good luck with that!

Ciara Ain't A Diva?

Singer Ciara, who recently did a remix to Beyonce's hit single "Diva," is now being considered a copy to Beyonce. . It has been said that everything from her swag to her cherography are just a mimic of Beyonces. The latest comes from her new video "Love,Sex and Magic." Many argue that the video is very similar to Beyonce's "Diva." After watching them both, I have to admit the two are very similar. What do you think?

The Making the Band Curse

If you were following me on twitter last night you know that I was watching Making the Band and also updating my twitter with my own thoughts on the show. What an episode! First of all, what is Que's problem? He has not been the same Que that he has been for the past seasons and it is causing a lot of major problems in the group. Last night things got even worse. Que first got into an argument with Day 26's manager, Screwface. The argument was over something stupid involving group member Brian, and was definitely made into something bigger than it had to be. Then, Que got into physical fight with Brian! Punches were being thrown and Brian and Que had to be separated by Screwface and the other group members. Basically after this there was a little more drama and there was still tension between the group(obviously). On the preview for next weeks episode Diddy says something along the lines of "You're the problem...we need to get rid of the problem," to Que. He also mentions that the fate of Danity Kane will be revealed. So make sure you watch next week and follow me on twitter for live updates during and after the show. What do you think? Will Day 26 fall victim to the Making the Band curse that has haunted every previous group, most recently Danity Kane! Email me with your thoughts. johnpanichella@jayswag.com.

Jamie Foxx Attacked!

A few days ago a man tried to force his way into Jamie Foxx's hotel room! It occurred at the AKA Hotel in Philadelphia. The man claimed to be Beyonce's producer and tricked Foxx into opening the door. Apparently, after a physical struggle Foxx was able to push the man out and slam the door. It was at this moment that the man fled on foot! A few days later Jamie Foxx's bodyguard found the man a few blocks from the hotel room. He called the police and the man was arrested for stalking, burglary, criminal threats, harassing and false impersonation. Crazy!

Ido Update: Bye Bye Megan?

Last night the Idol contestants were given the chance to pretty much sing any song they wanted. Even with all this freedom there were still tons of people who did not do as good as they should have. One of those people was Megan Joy. I used to really like her style and I thought it was unique and original but after last night I'm not sure she deserves to be in the competition any longer. I do believe she will be the one to get sent home tonight. On the bright side, I thought that Lil, Adam, Danny and Allison did great as usual! Why can't we eliminate the competition down to those four right now!? Honestly, they are the only ones who have it in them to compete and they all show the "artistry" that Kara has been talking about. It may sound harsh but for real, would you pay to hear Anoop sing?
