R.I.P Total Request Live

Last night, MTV's Total Request Live (TRL), had its final episode. The star studded event was hosted by Carson Daly and Damien Fahey. Beyonce opened the event with a performance of "If I Were a Boy", and "Single Ladies". Some other celebrities attending the finale were, Diddy, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Kid Rock, Hillary Duff, Smauel L Jackson, Christina Aguilera via Satellite, Eminem via telephone and many more. In addition to these guest appearances Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent, The Backstreet Boys, Ludacris, Nelly, and Snoop Dogg all performed. The show went through some of there favorite moments, including the time the whole show went to Diddy's office.  They also mentioned the top performances, and most iconic music videos. Hips Don't Lie by Shakira, Miss Independent by Kelly Clarkson and Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stafani, were some of their favorite performances, just to name a few. The most iconic music videos are as followed:

  • Hey Ya - OutKast
  • Whats My Age Again - Blink 182
  • Yeah - Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris
  • Crazy In Love - Beyonce
  • Badwitdaba - Kid Rock
  • Dirty - Christina Aguilera
  • Bye Bye Bye - NSYNC
  • I Want It That Way - The Backstreet Boys
  • Slim Shady - Eminem
  • Baby One More Time - Britney Spears
A great list of songs, for a great final show. Its surprising that Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" was the most iconic video, yet she couldn't show up or even leave a pre-recorded message. Maybe she was busy? In all seriousness though, the show was a good show from beginning to end. The stars, fans, and viewers all had their own tear tear moments, as they remembered different events that were all significant to them. At the end of the show, everyone gathered on stage to give TRL one final goodbye. Carson Daly looked into the camera and asked "Why is this show ending?". I now asks myself that same question. TRL is now over, and with it that last "Music" part of "MTV (Music Television).
